Jess was transferring to the State University of New York at Oswego in the Fall of 2013. A friend of Jess’ had mentioned he knew a guy named Billy that went there. He had told Billy that Jess would be going to college there in the fall, thinking maybe we would run into each other. Jess brushed it off, “I will never meet this Billy guy.” When it came time for room assignments Jess had gone through about 10 roommates. She was super bummed with this being her first impression of going away to college. Finally, she was assigned a permanent roommate. She told Jess there was room available for them in a town house on campus and Jess was ecstatic, although they had to live with 4 boys. Eventually they met them and who was Jess introduced to? Billy! She laughed thinking, “Wow! I truly never thought I would meet this guy.” The 6 of us became inseparable. It wasn’t until they were home for summer break that Jess confessed she liked him. And well… The rest is history!

Billy and Jess love Philadelphia. Billy started a new job and had his first weekend off, so they thought the perfect way to celebrate was a trip to Philly. With it being a few hours away from home it was the perfect little getaway. Jess’ cousins, Joe and Kristin, happened to be going the same weekend, so they had their schedule packed with things to do. On Saturday Kristin asked if they wanted to meet them at the Rocky Steps, to take some sunset pictures. They were bringing their 1 year old son and Jess was so excited about taking a family photo shoot for her. They arrived at the steps and Billy asked Jess to video him running up like, “Rocky Balboa.” Jess, rolling her eyes, started taping as Billy sprinted ahead of her. Jess, moseying up the stairs, approached the last step. Billy was there waiting for her, on one knee….She said YES! Billy coordinated Jess’ close friends and family to be there. It could not have been a more perfect day.
