We met in LA on April 22, 2019, at an Earth Day community run that Billy organized. Considering that we both lived in different countries, we didn't think too much of it — but something prompted us to keep in touch, even when Covid-19 derailed Billy's plans to come up to Vancouver for a visit in March 2020. We reconnected in July 2021 in Colorado, when both of us coincidentally showed up at Hardrock 100 miler to connect with the community we'd missed so much during the pandemic. We bumped into each other in Silverton almost immediately, and the sparks very quickly followed.
After enjoying some incredible adventures in Chamonix this past summer, Billy flew back to Vancouver with me to visit my family. We went on a long run in the mountains at Whistler, BC, ending up at a pristine alpine lake where we were the only ones in sight. He suddenly pointed at a "deer" he saw behind me, and when I turned back around he was getting down on one knee. I cried, he cried, and we celebrated our love together in the mountains that we both love. Now it's our turn to celebrate our love with you. We hope you can join us!
