A typical match on JSwipe, something 20-somethings know an awful lot about, happened on February 20th, 2017. With the conversation going well, I thought it would be an opportune time to offer my number. Waiting for a text I was, but to no avail. Seven months later and we matched again. This time, I learned my lesson and asked for Alexa’s number instead. Boom. A date at the Keg Room on October 12th, 2017. Followed by a Central Park date with some sushi to go, a chocolate making class, and dinner dates during the week. Finally we could be ourselves and Alexa learned that I don’t love spending $15 on patron sodas on weekdays. The sparks started to fly and I followed Alexa to Murray Hill (in a separate apartment of course). From Murray Hill, to Lake George, Mexico, countless trips to Florida, and scalping Yankees tickets in between, we moved in together. Then Covid came and we “moved” to Florida... Unbeknownst to Alexa, I bought a ring! On February 20th, 2021 (four years from the day we originally matched on JSwipe), I popped the question with the help of some of our closest friends and family, celebrating with our favorite tequila sodas on a Saturday night. Thanks to everyone who has played a part in our journey and for making us feel like we’re on top of the world! #haberlyeverafter
