Aqualink and Aquabus - Accessible Activities (Map on Site)
If you're looking for fun things to do Friday without having to worry about transportation, there are water taxis that stop at the Queen Mary (a 5 min walk from the hotel). The Aqualink is a longer ride and takes you by Alamitas Park, which has a beach. Both stop in downtown Long Beach at the aquarium and Shoreline Village, which offer dining, shopping, and amusement options.
Visit the Aquarium of the Pacific (Water Taxi Accessible - Dock 4)

Hike the Rancho Palos Verdes Coastal Trail at Founders Park
1.9-mile out-and-back trail near Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 50 min to complete. Hike through these scenic ocean trails lined with coastal sage, cacti, and native vegetation. This area has interesting television history. In 1996, MTV used surrounding areas of the peninsula to film the MTV Beach House. In addition, FOX filmed scenes from the hit show The O.C. in the surrounding area, and many of the Disney films (like Pirates of the Caribbean) were shot right on this coast.
LA and Orange County
If you're staying for extra time, LA and Orange County are within an hour of the Hotel and Long Beach Airport. Each of these places also has an airport, so plan flights accordingly if you plan on checking them out. LA offers a variety of activities including hikes, great food, shopping, beaches, and sightseeing. Orange County offers a number of stunning beaches, Disneyland, and more.
