Once upon a time in the vibrant halls of Kingston High School, two staff members were destined to cross paths. Tina, a dedicated school social worker, often heard her students rave about a charismatic English teacher named Mr. Burch. They spoke of his engaging lessons, infectious enthusiasm, and his talent for bringing Shakespeare’s words to life. Intrigued, Tina couldn't help but admire him from a distance. As 2020 drew to a close, a spark of connection ignited when they became Facebook friends. Bill’s posts about outdoor adventures and weightlifting caught Tina’s eye. One day, in a playful exchange, he offered to help her lift weights. Excited by the idea of getting to know him better, she quickly accepted. Their first outing was a hike on the Joppenbergh Mountain Loop, a 1.5-mile trail near Rosendale. The crisp air filled with laughter and easy conversation as they tackled the moderately challenging route, which took about 51 minutes to complete (but somehow they ended up there ALL DAY). As they navigated rocky paths and Bill admired the VIEW, it became clear they complemented each other perfectly. Bill's passion for the New Jersey Devils surfaced and Tina's love for hockey became very known (more live and in person than a season TV pass), bonding over her late nights at hockey and his newfound Score Board Bill hobby, they found a common COLD ground, where he always kept her warm. From those beginning days on, their connection blossomed. They quickly fell in love and soon moved into their new home a year ago, right in Rosendale—the same town where they had shared their first date. Their life together was filled with joy, surrounded by their five spirited teenage girls. The household bustled with energy, especially with three playful dogs, ten curious chickens, and four ducks waddling around the yard, each adding their own charm to the chaos. As they settled into their busy lives, they realized they hadn't stepped foot back on that lovely trail since that first hike. After all, who had time for a 1.5-mile trek when there were teenage dramas to navigate, meals to prepare, and a small farm to manage? Between the chickens clucking for attention and the ducks insisting on their daily parade, the only mountains they conquered now were the towering piles of laundry! But they laughed about it, knowing that while they may have traded in their hiking boots for a comfortable couch, the adventure of their lives together was just getting started. With love and understanding, they truly lived happily ever after, proving that sometimes, the best stories begin in the most unexpected and tragic places.
