Things To Do

There are so many incredible local businesses and places to visit in Champaign-Urbana that listing everything would be a huge undertaking... Listed here are only some honorable mentions. Feel free to do your own search for things to do!
The Scratching Post CU

The Scratching Post CU

114 East University Avenue, Champaign, IL 61820

This is an amazing small business Sierra works for! They have an impressive board game library that only costs $5 per person for 2 hours of play. To go into the cat lounge and meet the rescued cats you'll need to make a reservation through their website ahead of time. The chai they offer is superb and there are a lot of quirky snacks to choose from.

Art Mart

Art Mart

1705 South Prospect Avenue, Champaign, IL 61820

We met up here for our second date in the cafe section. Their ham and cheese croissants are to die for! Sierra loves their matcha latte and gouda pasta salad. Bill loves getting chocolates from them every Valentine's Day. A beloved women-owned local business that's still going strong!

Exile on Main Street

Exile on Main Street

100 North Chestnut Street, Champaign, IL 61820

If you still love collecting physical media such as vinyls, CDs, and tapes, this is a must visit place! Bill has played on their center stage. Don't forget to take a glance at their mural on the ceiling.

Parcadia

Parcadia

302 North Broadway Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801

The new business venture from the owners of CU Adventures (an award winning escape room company Sierra also works for). Parcadia is an indoor magical mini-golf tavern for all ages that includes interactive quests and creative cocktails. The Mai Tai is served in a glass that's shaped like a dragon's mouth. If you like fantasy (and going to a Renaissance fair), you'll love this place!

The Yard on Broadway

The Yard on Broadway

401 North Broadway Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801

Multiple local businesses with incredible food all in one place (it can get loud and busy here on the weekends). There are games such as pinball and air hockey to choose from too! Sierra occasionally crosses the street from work at CU Adventures to have lunch here.

Meadowbrook Park

Meadowbrook Park

2808 South Race Street, Urbana, IL 61802

A special park to both of us where we've walked our dog, Porkchop, multiple times. With many interesting sculptures to see along the paths and occasional wildlife spotted within the tall grass. Bill played at this park once for the Jazz Walk. A free experience that's totally worth your time!
