Miami and Ft Lauderdale are also an option, but you'll be driving a beautiful yet 3.5 hour drive down the length of the Keys (highly recommended if you have time and feel adventurous).

We will have a budget friendly as well as a boutique hotel option with rooms blocked for Fri/Sat/Sun night.
Winslow's Bungalows ($$$) is boutique style from Kimpton within 3 blocks.
Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott ($) will be budget friendly although a few miles away convenient by Uber.
