FAQs

Question

Will there be any restrictions due to COVID-19?

Answer

Washington, DC recently implemented a mandatory vaccination policy for all event venues. This means that you must show proof of at least 1 COVID-19 vaccine dose (either your physical vaccination card or a photo of the same). Masks are required when entering the building and when you are not eating or drinking. That said, beverages will be served continuously starting at 4:30pm, so you should be able to keep a drink nearby and go maskless the majority of the night if you choose! We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 so that we have enough time to get everyone seated prior to the ceremony. Welcome wines will be served starting at 4:30pm, and these may be kept with you throughout the ceremony. The sunset ceremony will start promptly at 5:00, so please do not be late!

Question

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony will be on the 3rd floor of the winery overlooking the river. After the ceremony guests will move down to the mezzanine level for a cocktail hour while District Winery staff flips the upstairs rooms for the reception. Elevators are available for any handicapped guests, and there are restrooms located on each floor.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We want everyone to look great so we ask that you wear semi-formal attire, please. We also want you to feel comfortable, so when the dancing starts if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight feel free to get comfortable!

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony and reception to post on social media?

Answer

During the reception, absolutely! However, we ask that you please keep your phones and cameras away during the ceremony. Our photographer will capture plenty of pictures of those special moments! If you choose to post anything on social media please use our wedding hashtag!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not then we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids (we really do), but we want our wedding to be your night off! We are looking into booking a couple of babysitters to help make that a reality if your kids need to travel with you.

Question

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes. There is a drop-off area in front of the winery, and elevators provide access to all three floors of the event space.

Question

Is there a shuttle for the ceremony?

Answer

The host hotels are both within easy walking distance (1-3 blocks) to the ceremony and reception venue, so there will not be a shuttle service. There is a handicap drop-off area at the winery entrance if needed.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are using the Zola registry. You can find a link to it up above.
