Henry and Bijou’s love story started when they matched on a dating app back in January 2019. Characteristic of both Henry and Bijou, their first couple of dates would be a whirlwind of unexpected twists, heartfelt laughter, and genuine connection. After agreeing to meet for coffee on a snowy afternoon, their first date at Heritage Coffee Shop would start with Bijou arriving 15 minutes late with a dead phone and no recollection of her date’s name. That date would end up being none other than Henry Boots, a name she would soon never forget. Despite her tardiness and foggy glasses, Henry approached with a warm smile and an inviting hug. After placing an order for their coffee, they would discover there wasn't a single open table. Thinking quickly, Henry suggested they relocate to a nearby Starbucks a short walk away. Once they sat down they immediately felt a spark as they began talking about their family, friends, and childhood memories from Indianapolis and Miami. As they parted ways after a successful first date, Bijou was thrilled to see a message from Henry about how much he enjoyed their time together and wanted to go on a second date, which would inevitably be during a Polar Vortex. Despite the bitter Chicago winter, Henry and Bijou would brave the cold for after-work dinners, cocktail dates, and their first Valentine's Day date at the Maggie Daley Ice Ribbon. Within a month they fell in love and began a whirlwind romance marked by a global pandemic, road trips, camping, festivals, and too many other adventures to mention. Four years later, almost to the day of their first date, Henry would propose to Bijou at the Maggie Daley Ice Ribbon against the snowy Chicago skyline. Two months later they would move over 700 miles south to escape Chicago's winters and begin their next adventure in Atlanta.
