Day -15: I see a picture of Allie in a group. She’s a tall, beautiful girl with a vibrant smile. She goes by “Marge” and interest decreases Day 1: Allie and I go to brunch with 15 people. It’s for us to meet, so we sit apart and don’t speak to each other. I pull my classic flirting move; stare from a distance and don’t talk to her. She’s definitely feeling it Later Day 1: We talk for the first time at volleyball. Her knees hurt too much to play. I have butchered knees. #meanttobe Day 2: I get her number from Joe. She is not happy about this Day 7: At Wrestlemnia, I drunk text Allie. “If we’re together next year you have to come to Mania with me.”. We were not texting before this. My suave nature shines and I keep her guessing on how I feel Day 9: Our first date. I have a beer. Allie gets false hope we would drink together in the future. She’s still disappointed Roughly Day 40: We see Mama Mia together on our first “real” date. The play isn’t great but the date is Roughly Day 90: Allie suggests our parents meet. I am skeptical. Allie wins. It is a lovely day Day 187: Allie and I go to SLU’s homecoming with the Newports. It’s a good trip Day 263: We go to the dog shelter. One dog runs to the back of his cage. Allie says “We won’t be getting him.” He is the best. Allie and I bring home Xabi. Day 328: “I love you” Day 329: Allie goes to Paris Day 415: I go to Cali Day 535: I come home. We see each other for the first time in 200 days. We’re nervous but feel like we were never apart Days 536-886: Allie catches all the wedding bouquets. All of them Day 887: Allie flies to Calgary for a trip to Banff. While she is in on the plane, I buy a ring and ask her dad for permission to marry her Day 888: We go on some hikes. To end the day, we hike Johnston Canyon Falls. Allie is ready to turn back but I ask to go 10 more minutes. We find a quiet spot by the falls. I ask Allie to marry me. She says yes Day 1273: Allie and I get married September 15, 2018 at Devil’s Thumb Ranch

Jordy and I were set up by two friends (there is still an ongoing battle on who deserves credit - shout out to Minnie and Joe). I wasn't looking for anything serious, so when I was tricked into going to a brunch that was "just friends" and up walks this 6'5" guy with a huge grin on his face, I immediately gave the "you've got to be kidding me" look to my friends. After this encounter, plus a couple weeks of relentless efforts by Jordan, I finally decided to give him a chance. We went on our first date and I remember thinking "okay, wait a second, this guy is actually super nice and fun to be around." I remember feeling extremely comfortable with him right away - it just felt "right." As we started going on adventures and building memories, I quickly found myself falling for this blue eyed sweetheart. From late night grocery runs and our "grocery games", to our trips all around the country, life with Jordy was fun! Through ups and downs, we always came out of things stronger and closer. All of this lead to his proposal at Banff National Park in August of 2017, where he had that same grin on that I had first seen two and a half years prior. I don't know how I got so lucky, but now I get to promise forever with the most incredible guy a girl could ask for.
