Could be 60s and sunny, could be 10 degrees and snowing. This is a fickle time of year in the mountains so your best bet is to check the forecast before traveling and pack accordingly, though some sort of winter coat is advisable regardless. We are planning indoor locations for all events but if we get lucky and it's decent out we'll have tents/heat lamps up as well post-ceremony.
Open to interpretation but creativity is encouraged! The general "theme" we're going for is a fantasy woodland but follow your heart. Please be considerate and classy**, if it's questionable you can doublecheck with us. If your style is more "traditional" you can play along with floral or animal prints, or if that is still too much just shoot for a complimentary color pallet. **By classy we just mean no cultural appropriation or squirting blood. We’ve been hearing about everyone’s ideas and sounds like there will be a large variety. Don’t stress if you haven’t gotten anything together or are not a costume person, just come in what you feel good in and be prepared for fall mountain weather.
Thurs (10/31)- We will be coming down to Missoula midday to spend time with our immediate families for the afternoon/evening. We will almost certainly get into some Halloween shenanies downtown later on... and hope to meet up with anyone that is around. Fri (11/1)- There will be a small Rehearsal Dinner from 6-9pm at an in-town venue (would love to invite everyone but the space is very limited) and then will be out and about in downtown Missoula, there will be lots going on for First Friday plus Day of the Dead/Halloween. Sat (11/2)- We will be busy with wedding prep during the morning but encourage guests to bop around downtown or hike the local trails (don't go too hard, you'll need your strength for dancing!). Shuttle to the wedding venue leaves at 3pm, if you miss the bus it will be an expensive uber up to the mountain... Sun (11/3)- For guests staying up at Snowbowl we will provide breakfast at the Lodge and then help coordinate transportation down the mountain. If you are staying in town and traveling early we will most likely miss you but will be back in town for more coffee/hugs goodbye by noon. We will be in Missoula through Sunday and would love to continue spending time with anyone that sticks around, and then will head out Monday for a TBD mini honeymoon before going back up to East Glacier.
Knowing both of us this will not go according to plan, but here's the plan anyways: **Cell reception is very spotty at Snowbowl so take care of any phone stuff ahead of time** 3pm Shuttle to Snowbowl leaves downtown Missoula 3:33pm Arrival of guests 4:07pm Wedding ceremony 4:44pm Cocktails 5:43pm Dinner 7:07pm Toasts 7:49pm First dance 8pm-midnight Dancing, live music by Joan Zen And at some point before the first shuttle goes back there will, of course, be cake :)
