Jessica and Jonathan’s story started back in 2018. At the time, Jessica was working at Shake Shack in New Hyde Park, and Jonathan would occasionally stop in to visit his friend, who happened to be her manager. One day, Jonathan asked his friend for Jessica’s Instagram, and that’s how they first connected. Not long after that, Jessica left Shake Shack and the two lost touch. Fast forward to 2020. Right in the middle of the COVID lockdown, Jessica posted a funny video on her Instagram story. Jonathan replied and told her it was the funniest video he had ever seen and that simple message ended up starting something really special. With the world shut down and nowhere to go for a normal first date, they spent their time getting to know each other through long FaceTime calls and phone conversations that often lasted until 5 a.m. When they finally tried to see each other in person, it was during the height of COVID testing. They would each wait in long lines at separate CVS locations to get tested back when results could take almost a full week to come back. After about a month of nonstop talking, they finally had their first official date. From that point on, they were pretty much inseparable. Not long after they started dating, they also had to navigate long distance, with Jonathan living in New Jersey and Jessica in New York. Even with the distance, they made every effort to see each other whenever they could and kept building their relationship through constant communication, patience, and lots of late-night conversations. Along the way, they realized something pretty funny… they had actually grown up just minutes from each other their entire lives! Always close, but somehow never crossing paths until the timing was finally right. Five years later, Jonathan asked Jessica to marry him, and they couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the next chapter of their story with all of the people they love most.
