Before proposing, Christian asked for Maddie’s dad’s blessing at their family ranch in Floresville, Texas. A few weeks later, during a visit to College Station, he took Maddie on a date to the botanical gardens at Texas A&M University. After a walk through the gardens, Christian got down on one knee in a quiet little nook and asked Maddie to marry him — and she happily said yes. Afterward, the two walked to the Century Tree, the same place where Maddie’s parents got engaged years before. According to tradition, couples who walk together beneath the Century Tree are destined to stay together forever, making the moment even more special. Later that evening, they celebrated the beginning of their next chapter surrounded by family.

What started as a spring break trip in 2022 through a mutual friend, Drew (thanks, Drew!), quickly turned into so much more. The two began the trip as complete strangers, but after spending seven days packed into a hotel room with nine college kids, becoming friends was inevitable. From that trip on, they’ve been inseparable- and the rest is history.
