We met at work, which already explains a lot. It started innocently—friendly conversations, easy laughs, and that oh… this person is actually really nice feeling. Somewhere along the way, Gabriel made the first move… kind of. What was supposed to be a group hang turned into just the two of us when everyone else bailed. Twice. Entirely by accident. Or so he claims. Those improvised dates quickly became our first official one, and after that we never really spent time apart. He was always planning the next date before the current one ended, and suddenly we were seeing each other constantly. Meanwhile, one of us was recovering from being an absolute disaster at dating before this (we’ll let you guess who). Then there were the green flags—kindness, effort, intention, consistency. All of it. And somewhere along the way, he also fell very deeply in love with Jacques, the corgi. Possibly more than with her. We’re not naming names, but Jacques may or may not be the real reason he stuck around. He’s very cute. We understand. Things felt easy. Time flew. Somewhere between staying over one too many nights in a row and realizing three whole months had passed, we knew this was serious. He introduced her to his parents… and shortly after, officially asked her to be his girlfriend. From there, everything just made sense. Then came the proposal. We were traveling, and while the timing felt suspicious, the plan did not. Gabriel planned everything—down to the smallest detail—in Boston, her favorite city. The setting was a park, extremely romantic, and completely outdoors. The only problem? It rained nonstop the day before. His nerves were everywhere. There was no backup plan. But the weather held, the moment happened, and it was everything—romantic, emotional, and perfectly us. A little chaotic, very intentional, and full of love. And somehow… that’s how this happened. (With a lot of help from Jacques.) Time for you to save the date to celebrate us.
