We met for the first time in September of 2011 when we sat next to each other in biology class at Red Bank Catholic High School. We only went to school together for a short six months before Matt switched schools to go to the high school in his town. Living only a town apart from each other, we would casually run into each other over the years at friends' houses or out in town, never thinking anything of it. One day in December of 2015, we both coincidentally decided to go to Hoboken and ran into each other. We hung out the whole day, and from this day on, it was history.
The day before Christmas Eve our families were getting together at my house for dinner to celebrate Christmas. This year for Christmas, we had picked out our gifts together. Once Matt and his family came over, Matt handed me my gift and told me to open it. Immediately I was wondering why he wanted me to open my gift before Christmas, especially because we picked them out. Little did I know, I opened the box and instead of a bracelet, there was a ring sitting in a little wreath and Matt down on one knee. I was completely in shock but could not be happier.
