Jake and Bianca’s story begins in Austin, Texas when both of them left home to go to college at the University of Texas. Bianca studied Marketing at the McCombs Business School and was an active member of business fraternity AKPsi and the Darlins spirit group while Jake studied Government in the College of Liberal Arts and was a Founding Father of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. Their paths first crossed Junior year at a spring crawfish boil, and while Jake immediately had a huge crush on Bianca, they never were able to spend much time together.

Thankfully, fate had other plans. Several years later, both Bianca and Jake were young working professionals still in Austin. Bianca had begun a career in data analytics and technical consulting while Jake pursued startups and venture capital. They reconnected at a mutual friend’s house and while talking realized that they were living a few blocks away from each other. Jake had recently adopted a young dog, Rainey, and they began going on walks together in their neighborhood. A wonderful friendship developed and soon, their friendship blossomed into a relationship. They began dating on July 9th, 2021.

After around a year of dating, Bianca and Jake both had remote jobs and were eager to explore life outside of Texas. They decided to embark on a 9 month journey exploring other cities around the US to decide where they wanted to build a life together. Their journey took them to San Antonio, Seattle, Denver, and San Francisco, and along the way their family grew when they picked up another dog, Tedder. Their travels were exciting – and exhausting, but overall deepened their relationship and love for one another. They knew their partnership was special and could withstand anything life threw their way. They also realized that their heart, along with friends and family, were back in Austin, Texas.

After arriving back in Austin, Bianca and Jake settled down into an apartment on the east side and began building their lives together. Jake knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Bianca and, after getting her parent’s blessing, began planning his proposal. On Saturday, June 1st, 2024, the day began like any other. Jake told Bianca he had planned a “Date Day” and they spent the day touring the State Capitol and local Art Museums. He then told her they had early dinner plans at a local restaurant in the neighborhood where they first began walking together. When they arrived, he lured her into walking in the community garden behind the restaurant “for old times sake”. As they entered the garden, Jake popped down on one knee, pulled out the engagement ring, and promptly forgot everything he had planned to say. Thankfully, Bianca understood what the ring meant. After 30 long seconds waiting for Jake to speak, he finally got out the words “So.. will you?” and she agreed to marry him. Both Jake and Bianca’s parents were hidden inside the nearby restaurant and came out to congratulate them and their friends were at a nearby restaurant to celebrate. Now we are ecstatic to bring our loved ones together for our wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
