At the heart of downtown Spokane is the 100-acre Riverfront Park filled with tons of pathways for biking, running, or just a relaxing walk soaking up the views. All just walking distance from the city center, you can easily access Gonzaga University, the upper falls of the Spokane River, the Riverfront Park Carousel, Sky Ride and the Spokane River lower falls too!
From Riverfront Park, keep following the Centenial Trail to Kendall Yards for great eats and even better views of the Spokane River and the downtown area! Downriver and about a 15 minute drive from the city center is Riverfront State Park. Walk, run or mountain bike the trails that cross a wooden suspension bridge and skirt the Spokane River as it meanders Northwest to calmer waters.
A scenic 30 minute drive from downtown is Greenbluff, the heart of all things Fall for Spokane! With dozens of family farms offering apple and pumpkin picking, hay rides, corn mazes, music and of course...apple cider donuts! If you're in the mood for "world famous" pumpkin donuts, look no further than Beck's Harvest House. Breweries, wineries, fresh produce and all with great views of Mt. Spokane.
A little over an hour's drive from downtown and you'll find yourself at the summit of Mt. Spokane. Great views looking east into Idaho, pack a lunch and enjoy the scenery from the comfort of your car. If you're looking for some fun, less than an hour drive from downtown Spokane is Silverwood Theme Park. Starting in late September, the park takes on a more frightening turn as it becomes Scarywood...a Halloween themed amusement park with thrills and scares for everyone!
Right across the stateline is Coeur d'Alene, ID, a beautiful resort town with a charming waterfront full of shops and restaurants. Just a 30 minute drive from downtown Spokane will bring you to this renowned lakeside city. Be sure to stop by Abi's for some great ice cream or Roger's Burgers for a quick bite and a milkshake!
