FAQs

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

Semi-formal or Indian attire. Men: No ties - It's hot in New York. No black. Women: No black. Dress modestly for the temple. If you are wearing a dress, it should not be strapless, but sleeveless is fine. Nothing too tight. Dresses should be knee-length or longer. Reach out to Bianca if you have any questions. Please be aware that shoes must be taken off at the temple. If you want, you may bring socks to wear at the temple.

Question

Where can I buy Indian clothes?

Answer

There is no need to buy Indian clothes for the wedding, but if you are interested, here are some good websites. For men, we recommend a kurta set. A jacket/vest is optional. Here are some links with options: https://www.kalkifashion.com/mens.html https://www.azafashions.com/collection/men/kurta-sets https://www.lashkaraa.com/collections/mens-ethnic-wear For women, we recommend a lehenga or a salwar kameez. You could also wear a saree, but it may be difficult for you to wrap it yourself and it won't be as comfortable as the other two options. Here are some links with options: https://www.lashkaraa.com/collections/pant-suits https://www.lashkaraa.com/collections/churidar https://www.lashkaraa.com/collections/straight-salwar-suits https://www.kalkifashion.com/salwar-kameez/kurta-set-with-dupatta.html https://www.kalkifashion.com/lehengas.html For Indian clothes, bright colors are preferred. No black.

Question

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

No, your presence is all we want!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Bianca and Ajay are staying at Hilton Garden Inn Midtown East. We have a hotel block ($490/night/pre-tax) - let us know if you're interested. Less expensive options include StayPineapple near Penn Station, Comfort Inn in Prospect Park, Pointe Plaza in Williamsburg, and Nesva in Long Island City. Another option is staying in an Airbnb in Hoboken, Weehawken, or Newark. If you're interested in sharing a hotel room or Airbnb with others, please let us know and we can group you.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

You are responsible for your own transportation to the ceremony at the temple. We recommend taking Uber/Lyft or taking the subway to get to the ceremony. After the ceremony and lunch at the temple, we will provide bus transportation to the cocktail hour and dinner/reception.
