Our first encounter

"Sho ma boi"

As the youngins say — we were playing with other children. Well, not literally on a jungle gym — but that’s how it felt the day we met at the ever-vibrant Gemelli. Both of us were out with our own circles of friends, carefree and caught up in the buzz of the evening. Our tables happened to be placed right next to each other, our backs almost touching — a gentle nudge from the universe, perhaps? The waiters kept squeezing between us, apologetically interrupting what would soon become a beautiful beginning. At some point, we looked at each other, laughed, and said, “Let’s just get closer.” And so we did. We started chatting — nothing fancy, just two strangers finding comfort in a conversation that felt oddly familiar. I playfully called him Babakhe, and in that moment, something shifted. It was as though a door quietly opened between us, revealing something warm, something real. From that unexpected encounter grew something unforgettable — filled with laughter, shared meals, late-night talks, and dreams whispered. And the rest, as they say, is a love story still being written.
