Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun https://www.riu.com/en/hotel/mexico/cancun/hotel-riu-palace-las-americas/ It is a smaller, adults-only, all inclusive option in the Riu brand. There is a larger Riu hotel next door that we can visit! Here are a few videos of a tour of the property. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHmOGwu3lrI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwsogG_gvY8
There are many options for booking-- and the resort always seems to be running promotions. (For example, 30% off was offered on Black Friday.) Sign up for RIU Class (see below) Update 11/24/24: I just booked my room through the resort! Things I learned: You can cancel and/or modify until 3 days before the stay. You can also pay in full at the resort upon checking in. If you want to add nights, you get the rate at which you booked, and if the price goes down you can call and they will honor it! I recommend this route (with your RIU Class status-- see below). 1. You can book through the resort. Sign up for Riu Class-- it's free! Use the drop down menu on hotel website. They will send you promotions and possible free upgrades upon arrival. Some say it has the best promotions. My account is 99014731 when you sign up and it asks for your friend's account. 2. You can go through a third party like cheapcaribbean.com or Expedia. Just make sure you are comfortable with this options and if you need to change/cancel. They tend to be the least helpful. But they also might have Black Friday-type sales! 3. You can book through a travel agent (Yes! They still exist!) Be sure that your reservation includes free airport transfers to the resort (15 minutes from airport), as this is a feature of this resort.
The most important thing I have read is to make sure you have your transfer arranged prior to arrival. Our resort includes airport transfer, but you will want to confirm this and the process when you book. Otherwise, you can reserve a personal transfer, but they say do NOT just step out and get into a taxi. Also, when you do arrive, do not let others try to tell you that your pick-up was canceled or changed-- they are scammers. Finally, Uber/Lyft is illegal at the airport. See the videos below. :)
Yes! Start the process, if you haven't already!
Come early, stay late! :) It's your trip! (I am probably going to get there on the 6th or 7th.) Most people will want to travel so that they can take advantage of the full day of resort amenities. If a flight arrives late, some will opt for a cheaper, airport hotel for that travel night, and then taxi over in the morning. The resort will hold your luggage prior to check in so you can get started in the fun! Also, you could fly to a southern city/state on the 7th and stay there prior to an early, direct flight to Cancun on the 8th. (For example, I saw Houston has this option on Southwest.) :)

Of course! Let me know and I will make a love connection! I think our resort allows three, maybe four, people in a room. Who knows, it might be me!!
Everything I see and read says that if it is possible to carry-on only, do it! The Cancun airport is not fast and you could wait longer than you might think for your luggage. Also, it is always a good idea to pack a nice outfit just in case the restaurants have a dress code.
It doesn't seem so. U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere. It is recommended that you not use a debit card. Bring either cash or your credit card. It is also recommended to bring singles to tip the staff throughout your stay. Though our resort is all-inclusive, it is much appreciated and will probably increase the quality of your service! After all, we are five-star guests! :)
We'll be at an adults-only resort. No kids!
Call or text me!!! (719) 352-8076 I'm sooooooo excited!!
