We’re getting married!

We technically went to preschool together, but we really met in eighth grade gym class. We were playing basketball when Carter — busy telling everyone what to do — told Madison to stand there and “look cute.” It’s a moment we still laugh about. Not long after, we started dating during COVID, and our first date was in Madison’s living room when we were 14 — simple, sweet, and the beginning of our story. Over the past six years, Jesus has grown us tremendously. We’ve learned that serving Him helps us love and serve each other better, and we’ve intentionally built our relationship with Christ at the center. That foundation has shaped who we are and continues to guide us every step of the way.

We took a spontaneous trip to the Black Hills and stayed at Carter’s cabin — completely unaware a proposal was coming. Huge shoutout to Gabe, whose spontaneity kept everything perfectly unsuspecting. While Gabe and Hailey went on a big hike, we decided to take a simple walk together. Carter mentioned wanting to find a rock wall he used to climb as a kid, so we wandered down by a little creek to look for it. Instead, we found a cross made of rocks. In that quiet moment, Carter got down on one knee and asked Madison to marry him — with Gabe and Hailey secretly cheering us on from the trees. Even though the forecast called for freezing clouds, the sun broke through at just the right time. It was such a clear reminder that the whole moment was in the Lord’s hands — and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
