The two met on the campus of Illinois State University at a house party. And if you know Teresa, then you already know that she doesn't have a filter and doesn't mince words. From that first encounter, the two became friends. It was through this friendship that the two developed the foundation for their now relationship.

The couple got engaged on November 1, 2019 in Paris. Andre, along with some of Teresa's close friends, planned the proposal for an entire year unbeknownst to Teresa. The day of the proposal, it was raining and there was a photoshoot scheduled to commemorate the trip. Teresa was annoyed because the photoshoot had to get pushed back due to the rain. Eventually the rain stopped and the photoshoot was all set. When Andre got down on one knee to pop the question, Teresa actually laughed (if you know Teresa, then you know) and said yes.
