How We Met

Our favorite journey yet

Beverly and Eli’s story began during a brief chapter of their lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, one of North America’s most beautiful cities. They had both arrived there through unexpected circumstances, knowing their time in the city would be temporary. Without realizing it at the time, they had chosen temporary homes directly across the street from one another, close enough to see into each other’s apartments. They found each other on Hinge and, after matching, skipped most of the virtual conversation and decided to meet in person. Their first date took place at a wine bar overlooking Vancouver’s waterfront, where they shared a bottle of Viognier. It was there that their story truly began. From the very beginning, there was a deep and natural connection. Though they came from different backgrounds and different parts of the world, they quickly discovered shared values, humor, and a love for meaningful experiences. Curiosity and adventure brought them closer, and a shared appreciation for travel and culture became the foundation of their relationship. They say traveling together reveals compatibility by showing how someone navigates stress, joy, and adaptability. Beverly and Eli embraced this wholeheartedly. After meeting in Vancouver, they began meeting and spending time across the globe. Over the next two years, they traveled to more than sixteen countries and forty cities, calling their journey Citizens of the World. With each trip, their bond deepened and their love grew stronger. After a year and a half together, Eli knew he wanted to spend his life with Beverly by his side. When he asked her to be his wife, her joyful yes marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with conversations about life, partnership, and the future they wanted to build together. In the months that followed, they learned what it meant to share everyday life, balancing routine with adventure and finding joy in both. As they thought about how they wanted to celebrate their love, Paris felt like the natural choice. The city reflects so much of who they are, from culture and diversity to beauty, the finer things in life, and of course wine. They are so grateful to share this moment with the people they love most.
