Back to Us

We once said yes with stars in our eyes, Built dreams in laughter and morning skies. We danced through seasons, bold and bright, Chasing forever in soft candlelight. But love, as it does, grew quiet one year, The echoes too distant, the silence unclear. We learned how hearts can drift like tide, Even with hands once clasped so tight. Still—time, that gentle gardener, grew Something tender, patient, and true. Not the fire of youth, but the kind that stays, Warming the soul through quieter days. You found me again, like a favorite song, The melody faint, but the feeling strong. A glance became comfort, a touch became home, In your eyes, I saw how far we’d grown. So here we stand, not starting anew, But turning the page with an older view. Two hearts seasoned, scarred, and sure— Not perfect, but deeply, richly pure. This is our vow, not fresh nor naïve, But weathered and ready to wholly believe. In second chances, in soft, steady light— In loving again, and this time, right.
