We met our last semester of college at Chico State. We were placed in the same group for a semester long project. We kept our feelings and casual dates a secret for a couple months to avoid any weird vibes within our group! When I heard Brian played baseball I was instantly interested. Let's be honest, I caught Brian's eye right away! We officially started dating four days before we graduated.

Well...as many of you know, Gabby had long awaited this moment, not so patiently. Sunday Dec 2nd, Gabby was working on her action research project (thesis), she was so close to being done and was very overwhelmed, anxious, and shed some tears throughout the day. After a walk with their pups, Hank and Maggie, Gabby went straight back to working on her paper. About an hour passed, it was now 7:00 PM, Brian came in and told Gabby she needed a break and told her he was going to take her to Starbucks for some hot cocoa. She didn't think much of it, one of their favorite things to do together is grab coffee and go for a drive. Brian told her to "dress warm", this made Gabby start to think, "weird, I wonder why". After going to Starbucks they took a drive downtown to see the lit Christmas tree in the downtown plaza, Brian parked and shared they were going to go for a walk. Still Gabby was not quite sure of why until they starting walking onto campus. Butterflies filled her stomach, this feeling of happiness and anticipation built up even though it was freezing. Gabby complained about how cold she was and how she needed to use the bathroom. As they came closer to Tehama Hall, where they met, Brian did not do anything, she had this sigh of confusion, "well...its not happening. He continued to be patient and listen to her whine...however, he was ready, he spun her around and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. He pulled out the most beautiful, perfect, pink ring! This was it!!!! FINALLY Gabby thought, after years of dreaming of this moment, the words out of her mouth were, "are you sure?" Brian shared with her, once he talked to her parents (the day before, the nerve racking part was over and he could not wait any longer) Calling their family and friends was so exciting and one of the most memorable parts of their evening.
