Joseph first met Erin when mutal friends invited him to go biking in Copper Harbor in October 2017. Joseph was happily surprised when Tyler's friend "Aaron" actually turned out to be "Erin" who liked to ride bikes and lived in the UP. After Joseph returned home to Detroit, he and Erin made a point to keep in touch. After a few conversations, Joseph took the plunge and asked Erin out on a date. Erin figured if a guy was willing to drive 10 hours for a date, it was probably worth seeing if he was for real.

After a year and a half of long-distance dating, we hoped that God would show us where our relationship should go. Our prayers were answered when Joseph's pursuit of a local engineering company finally paid off and he was able to move to the UP in the spring of 2019. Throughout our time together, we've enjoyed many adventures and lots of lessons. Growing together has been an incredible blessing.
