We met twice at the house Ryan was living at on Cherry St. in Normal, IL. The first time was a party when Ally yelled at him (details not necessary), and the second time was at Homecoming 2015 for Illinois State University. The third time (and main time Ryan remembers) was at a mutual friend's birthday party at ISU thanks to our great friend, Madison McClurg. A few days after that night, we started talking then stopped talking then thankfully started talking again. The rest is history.
At our baby shower for our son, Bennett, we had a wonderful time with so many family members and close friends. The night before, Ryan told Ally he was "putting something together for her and the baby." Her first instinct was a rocking chair because that's what made sense to her. Little did she know, him and our awesome friend, Amber Melville, were scheming a plan for Ryan to propose to her. Fast forward to the next day towards the end of our baby shower, Ryan announces he has a surprise for the baby and Ally. He pulls out his phone and starts reciting a beautifully worded poem, got down on one knee, pulled out a gorgeous ring, and proposed to the very emotional, very pregnant Ally. We don't think there was a dry eye in the room.
On the first snow storm of Winter 2020-2021, we decided to have our wedding outdoors in an event tent. Due to COVID restrictions (go figure), we had to change locations last minute. The Castle Theatre was only able to allow us 25-50 guests or postpone again. Ryan and Ally decided they were tired of waiting and tied the knot. What could go wrong? Ally’s dress melted, Megan’s (bridesmaid) dress melted, Matt’s (groomsmen) tux melted, all the food and non alcoholic beverages froze, Sarah and Ray’s (sister and brother-in-law of Ally) car got a flat tire, Debbie and Steve’s (Ryan’s parents) car went into the ditch, Savana (bridesmaid) broke her toe the night before, and probably more we cant remember. Needless to say, it was an eventful and unforgettable night. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all in an indoor, warm, no snow environment.
