Hank & Nichole met while working at Kapnos, a Greek restaurant in Washington DC. She was a manager, and he was a sous chef new to the company. Nichole was focused on growing her career and didn't feel like she needed a relationship in her life yet and Hank wasn't exactly available. Instead they became friends, and even after she left Kapnos, Hank refused to let her out of his life. Eventually Hank found himself available, and after a fun & flirtatious night out on the town, there was that first kiss moment and Nichole immediately realized she was in trouble. Fast forward a few years, and they've survived moving in together (Nichole will never let him live down the move from DC to Alexandria), moving to a new state, a global pandemic, buying a house during said pandemic, adopting a puppy, all while chasing their dreams and career goals. It's hasn’t always been easy, but they've made it this far in one piece, and getting married is the next stop on this crazy ride.
