Things To Do
Taughannock Falls
Taughannock (Tuh-gaan-ick) Falls are the highest single drop waterfall east of the Rockies! (215 ft drop) If you head down the hill (north, towards Cayuga Lake) and turn right, there is a little parking area (it's a $7-$8 charge) with a short hike to the bottom of Taughannock falls.
Buttermilk Falls State Park
You can see these big, beautiful falls when driving into the park. Do not worry about paying for parking if this is the only destination on your list (standard NYS park fee of $7 or $8). If you'd like to hike, there are beautiful hiking trails behind the falls.
Ithaca Falls
These falls are easily seen driving down lake street. They will be on the east side of the street. There is free parking on the south side of the falls as well, but it does require a small hike down to the falls from the parking lot.
Watkins Glen State Park
This is one of the prettiest parks! (According to Betsy.) There is lots of hiking throughout this park. It's the standard parking fee for NYS ($7 or $8). Keuka Lake is close by.
Letchworth State Park
Betsy only went here once and doesn't remember it well! However, people say great things about it so you should go if you can!
Ithaca Beer Co
They make their own beer!
The Corning Museum of Glass
Go here for the demos and all the fun things to do! It's close to Painted Post. (also, they sell some inexpensive glass jewelry in the gift shop!)
Gimme! Coffee
There is one of these coffee shops near Taughannock Falls as well. It's an Ithaca staple and if you are a cofee snob, definitely stop by and try one of their specials! The lattes are my favorite!:)
Corning's Gaffer District
This is where the cluster of cute shops is in Corning. Walk around here for glass souvenirs, a tasty bite to eat, or just enjoy window shopping around. There is a Corning store around this area as well, in case you'd like to pick up some discounted dinnerware.
Old World Cafe & Ice Cream
It's delicious.

A go to spot for Betsy's family when eating out in Corning! :)
Dolce Delight
This place has THE BEST chocolate croissants! They sell out by lunchtime usually, so get there early. Their pies and truffles are favorites of Tanner and Betsy. (but mostly Tanner because Betsy is so healthy and doesn't know much about sweets)
Robert H. Treman State Park
This place is great! There are hiking trails, and the best swimming hole ever! If you go here, bring your swim suits! (There's a $7-$8 fee to park in all NYS parks, including this one)
Stewart Park
You can park for free, yay! And you can walk from your car to the water easily, or just stay in your car and enjoy the lake through the willow trees. It's wonderful.
