Kazu had been begging Betsy to go skydiving with him for years, and after her first experience in Spain, she had said she’d probably never do it again. Fast forward to 2020, Kazu knew he had to do something spectacular to surprise Betsy for the proposal and he knew sky diving is the last place she’d expect it. Betsy had admitted, though, that if they just showed up ready to go skydiving, she'd feel inclined to follow through. Kazu took that as the green light, and on October 29th, 2020, he sent her out of a perfectly good plane knowing good and well that she'd be too distracted falling through the sky to consider how there might be a banner waiting at the landing zone reading "Will You Marry Me?" in big, bold letters as she floated in on her parachute. Kazu was there too, ring in hand and knee in the dirt. Nauseous and through heavy breathing she managed the get out a "yes," and the rest is history.
