We started talking on a dating website called hinge during the first lockdown in 2020. Beth was supposed to be meeting another guy who she’d been talking to for around a month but he didnt show up. Courtney offered to come instead to not waste the journey Beth made and ended up sat talking for the next few hours and hit it off! The more we saw each other the more it was obvious we were meant to be together. After 2 weeks of meeting up most days and being able to do nothing but talk we made our relationship official and never looked back 💛

To set the scene, it was our first holiday to Cornwall staying across from St Michaels Mount. At the end of the week, Courtney booked a surpise meal out at one of the restaurants looking over the beach and St Michaels Mount, watching the sunset and having an early anniversary celebration. Unknown to Beth, Courtney was planning to propose, but he didn’t feel the right moment at the meal. A walk down the causeway was suggested (Courtney’s second proposal plan) and a picture was taken before walking back up to the cottage. Another moment missed. Back at the cottage and watching the cinematic wonder of Twilight, Beth told Courtney to remove whatever the hard object was in his pocket that was digging into her legs. It was at this moment she realised what it was. A final walk down to the beach at 10pm and Courtney finally popped the question, which Beth thought about before finally agreeing (it was never in doubt).
