Daniel and Amy are truly lucky to have found each other, as they both originated from different coasts! The story begins in August of 2018. Daniel and his twin brother, Alex, were visiting from their home state of South Carolina attending a convention in Anaheim. Having visited California once before in 2006, they decided that they wanted to once again travel PCH to see Laguna Beach. Their Aunt and Uncle, Pat and Bob, had once lived in Laguna and wanted to see the seaside town once again. While there, they decided they wanted to see the art festivals that Laguna Beach had to offer. They were pointed in the direction of the Sawdust Art Festival. Little did they know, Amy worked at the Information Booth selling tickets at the Sawdust. Amy was working the ticket window when she first saw Daniel come into view. She was already intrigued when she overheard him talking about how he was in the military, as the Sawdust gives free tickets to active duty and veterans. Amy called Daniel over to her window and offered to help him out with his tickets. After she had given him the ticket, Daniel lingered a little longer at the window and continued to talk. It was clear to Amy’s coworkers, who were observing from behind, that they were completely smitten with each other. So much so, that Amy’s coworker Lisa immediately rushed out of the booth to go ask if Daniel was single! She found out he was and within minutes Daniel came back to the window and gave Amy his phone number. From then on the rest is history! Even though Daniel lived in Charleston and Amy lived in California, they never had any trouble being together. They saw each other frequently traveling back and forth to see each other. This all changed when Daniel made the decision to make the big move to California and join Amy on the west coast!
Amy flew out in June 2019 to help Daniel finish packing, as they had decided to do a 10 day road trip to move Daniel to California. Daniel had planned to take Amy to a nice last dinner in Charleston that he had wanted to check out. It was a place in downtown that required them to dress up. Daniel had the great idea that since they were dressed up, they could go take pictures in front of Amy’s favorite place in Charleston, The Pineapple Fountain! When Amy and a Daniel got to the fountain, they started taking pictures on their phones. Little did Amy know, that Daniel had a photographer hiding for the big moment. Daniel pulled Amy in front of the Pineapple Fountain, grabbed her hand, got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever girl. And she said yes!
