Shortly after we started dating, Megan mentioned she’d never been to Las Vegas and wanted to go before turning 30. Small detail: it was the middle of a global pandemic… and her birthday was literally days away. Bethany took that as a personal mission, and off we went, just a quick road trip from Phoenix to Vegas right before the big 3-0. We checked into the Flamingo and landed in a room that was absolutely an original, never-renovated relic. The smell of old smoke and the single functioning light bulb really set the mood, but honestly, for the price? Worth it. We walked the Strip more that weekend than most people do in their entire lives and ate probably a dangerous amount of Taco Bell Cantina. All while spending basically no money, because clearly, Vegas needed more than we did at that time! The best moment came the first morning there when Bethany asked Megan what she wanted to drink. Megan asked very confused like, “Drink? It’s 9 am!” Bethany just smiled, shrugged and said, “Babe… it’s Vegas. You can drink whenever. The city doesn’t close.” From that trip on, Vegas became our place, where Megan met Bethany’s sisters for the first time, where we celebrated Bethany’s 30th, and where we kept coming back for quick concerts and sometimes chaotic escapes. So getting married here just made sense. Vegas is busy, loud, ridiculous, and somehow still perfect, and we can’t wait to share our favorite mess of a city with all of you.
