Things To Do

For those of you planning to stick around longer on our wedding weekend, here are some favorite hangouts in the area. Some of the these suggestions are particularly geared towards Bethany's West Coast crew, some of whom have never been to the Midwest before. If you live in the area, chances are these places will be equally delightful to you! Please check back here regularly (if you are so inclined) as I will add more places in the next couple months.

Town Hall Tap

4810 Chicago Ave S, MN 55417

This is where we met for our first daring Coffee Meets Bagel date. Tap room and restaurant, Lake Nokomis a few blocks away,

Science Museum of Minnesota

120 West Kellogg Boulevard, Saint Paul, MN 55102

If you've never been to the Science Museum before...treat yourself! This was our second date...Bethany suggested we check out the mummy exhibit, providing excellent fodder for the mind and conversation. Super kid and adult-friendly. Learn something new!

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN 55318
, (952) 443-1400

Voted the Best Botanical Garden! You can wander for hours in these pretty landscapes. See how many new plant names you can learn, basking in the beauty of more than 5,000 species and varieties. Mackenzie's note: this is actually located in Chanhassen, NOT Chaska. Ask him about it, he works for the city of Chanhassen.

Como Park Zoo & Observatory

1225 Estabrook Drive, Saint Paul, MN 55103

Zoo and Conservatory. Animals and green things, two of Mac and Bethany's favorite things. Also, free! Highly recommended.

Stone Arch Bridge and Father Hennepin Bluff Park

100 Portland Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55401

Don't miss it! Close proximity to the U of M, downtown Minneapolis. Be mesmerized by the perpetual motion and force of the Mississippi around the historic St. Anthony Falls. Take a picture along the ruins of the once-glorious Washburn-Crosby Co. (later General Mills) mill, check out Mill City Museum. Enjoy a comprehensive view of the area at the top of Guthrie Museum. Who doesn't like river fronts? So many picturesque spots around this area!

For all the days along the way
