In the fall of 2008, Bethany began playing volleyball for a brand new club team. One of the coaches for the club had a younger son who always accompanied him to practices and would compete with the girls. That young man was Kameron Beans. At this time, Bethany was 15 and Kameron was 12. They only knew each other as aquaintances but nothing more. For the next 3 years, Kameron was around at practices from time to time and he even began his freshman year of high school at Spalding while Bethany was a senior there. Bethany went away to college in Florida but decided to move home 5 years later to begin serving as the American Sign Language teacher at Old Mill High School. Bethany felt that she might want to help out with the volleyball program at Old Mill. When she looked on the website to find out who the coach was, it was none other than Romonzo Beans, Kameron’s father. Of course Romonzo couldn’t remember who Bethany was so he asked Kameron if he remembered her. Kameron, being his sly little 19 year old self, sent Bethany a facebook message inviting her to come help out with the Old Mill Volleyball camp a few days after she returned to Maryland. On August 5th, of 2015, the two were reunited and the rest is history!
