Update

When priorities change, plans change, & keeping our family and friends safe and stress free on our wedding day is most important to us. Although we are ready to be married, we will be just as married come March 2021. Love is patient, and we have made peace in this season of waiting. March 21, 2021 has a nice ring to it.

How we met

Royal Caribbean Cruise 2009

Bethany's version- We met on a cruise in 2009 then again on a cruise in 2011. I was the first one to make the move. After the cruise, I messaged Jackson on Facebook. Shortly after, phone numbers were exchanged. We talked about hanging out, but it never actually happened. We kept up with each other through social media and occasionally would message each other. When I went to UCA for graduate school, we ran into each other at the Bears Den (of course, where else?). This time, Jackson made the first move. Jackson asked for my number, again. A few weeks later, he asked me on a lunch date. Around Christmas time, he took me on our first "real" date (excluding our weekly Serrano restaurant dates). We went on a double date to Garvan Woodland Gardens to see the lights! It was beautiful. I knew he was a keeper. Jackson's version: In 2011 I went on a cruise with my family. Before dinner one night a group of about 5 girls came up to me and introduced themselves. I remember this cute, shy girl in the back of the group that had such a charming smile but didn’t say much, all I got was her name..Bethany. We added each other on Facebook so over the years we kept up. God decided to cross our paths once more down the road. Bethany had just started grad school at UCA which is where I was going to school. We ran into each other at Bears Den one night and I remember thinking to myself, “Man she still has that smile that could light up a room.” This time we exchanged phone numbers and decided to catch up sometime. We texted for a while and eventually decided to go on a study break to eat at Serranos one Friday. I guess the (first date) went well enough that she obliged to go on a double date with me to Garvan Gardens to see the Christmas lights. I would consider the Christmas lights our first date but Bethany might say Serranos was. Either way both were successful. Serranos is where Bethany found her love for salsa, and Garvan Gardens is where I won over the girl of my dreams!

The Proposal

Botanical Gardens 6-8-2019

We have talked about getting engaged. I strongly hinted at what style of ring I wanted. Of course, I am indecisive so I sent him a million choices. I knew that the proposal was coming, I just did not know when. I was gone at the beach the week before, and Dad said he needed to get back earlier than planned for a meeting. I did not question it. The morning of the proposal, we went to the Razorback baseball game with Jackson's family. We were going to go to dinner with Jackson's family for his dad's birthday that night. I went home to get ready. I almost left in a casual, not so cute outfit. Luckily, Mauri stopped me. She said that she wanted to meet up after dinner and hang out, so I should wear something cute. I changed into an outfit that was definitely on the more casual cute side, but way better than what I had on originally. Jackson picked me up, we stopped by my sisters since we were running early. We walked in and my sister and mom were acting weird like they were hiding something (later I found out they were hiding all kinds of engagement party decor). Then we left to go to pick up a present for his dad (a plant from Botanical Gardens). I thought that was weird, but his dad likes to grill outside and thought maybe he wants a plant out there? I don't know. I didn't want to over think it. The lady at the front said that the plant was not ready, so we walked around the gardens while she was finishing. I was suspicuious now. Every beautiful scene we came up on, I was like "Wow, this is so beautiful......". Just waiting... Jackson was like "Yep". He kept walking ahead of me. Then we get to the last scene, by this point I had given up and thought wow I got my hopes up. We walk around the corner to light up signs that said "Marry me" and rose petals up to the gazebo. The moment was absolutely perfect. BEST DAY EVER- Until 07-18-2020, of course. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Bentonville on 07-18-2020! WOO
