If you have any questions or concerns directly related to the venue/location, please contact New Orleans Paddlewheels, Inc. (504-529-4567) OR the onsite coordinator, Karen (504-293-2314). If you have any questions or concerns that are not addressed in this FAQ section, please contact the bride or groom.
Question

RSVP by?

Answer

ALL guests, including children and plus-ones, must RSVP no later than Tuesday, March 31st, 2026.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive to the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen by 5:00 PM sharp. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 PM. The Creole Queen will begin cruising from the dock at 7:00 PM sharp. The brief subsequent second line celebration will begin once we return to the dock at 9:00 PM.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Invited children are welcome, but please know we still require RSVPS for ALL guests, including children by Tuesday, March 31st, 2026. Also, please note the ceremony and reception will take place onboard of a functioning Paddlewheeler vessel, which will not be able to return to the dock until the event ends. The wedding will have activities, including music and an open bar, that you may not consider appropriate for children to be around. You will be responsible for the safety of yourself and your children.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We do not have any hotel recommendations, hotel rooms blocked, and/or reservations for guests. You are responsible for finding your own hotel or accommodations. We recommend staying in a hotel or Airbnb located close to the French Quarter. Please ensure you book accommodations as far in advance as possible as reservations quickly sell out in New Orleans.

Question

I have a food allergy or preference, can I make a special request?

Answer

We will be unable to accommodate food allergies or special preferences. We plan to serve food during the reception, including red beans and rice (vegetarian), Cajun shrimp pasta, beef brisket, and cake. We are also providing an open bar with beer, wine, liquor, tea, and soft drinks, as a thank you to our guests for traveling to celebrate with us. Please tip your bartender if you love the service.

Question

Safety / Prohibited Items / Accessibility

Answer

Prohibited items: firearms, knives, fire burning candles, glitter, confetti, illegal items. Please note that anyone boarding with a purse/bag may be asked to open it for a very quick visual check as you board the vessel. Please note that the boat will cruise from approximately 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM and some guests may experience motion sickness. There are multiple restrooms aboard the vessel. If you think you may be unable to walk or keep up with the second line celebration, then please arrange your own pedicab transportation. There are several pedicab vendors located in New Orleans that will be happy to allow you to rent a stylish ride through the celebration so that you do have to miss out on the experience.

Question

What is a second line?

Answer

A Second Line Parade is an iconic and beloved NOLA tradition that is rooted in rich cultural heritage. At our wedding, the second line will signify the start of a new life beginning for Bethany and Colton. A brass band will lead the bride and groom, and any wedding guest who decides to join us, on a celebration parade from the Riverboat to the streets of the French Quarter. Guests are encouraged to wear vibrant and comfortable attire, including your dancing shoes. Guests are allowed and encouraged to wear masks, beads, and other mardi gras attire. Guests can feel free to bring their own umbrellas, parasols, handkerchiefs, and/or cocktail napkins in hand. Whether you are an elder guest, have a young child unable to walk or be carried, are a guest recovering from an injury, or a guest who cannot help but rock shoes that you know are too uncomfortable for strutting, New Orleans has pedicab vendors who can offer a rented ride so that you can safely and stylishly experience the second line; however, our guests are responsible for arranging their own pedicab ride, if needed. Bethany and Colton recommend that you book this service as far in advance as possible, if needed.
