Travel

We are extremely blessed by the friends and family who will be traveling from out of town to celebrate with us! We hope this page and the “Things to do” page will be helpful in planning your trip. Thank you for coming to celebrate with us!

Travel Note

Air BnB

We recommend Air BnB’s around Liberty or Gladstone. We think that in general these can be easier and more comfortable to stay in if you are from out of town!

Travel Note

Hotel

We will be securing a block of rooms at a hotel so check back again soon!

Road-trip from Mississippi

There are three main routes from Mississippi to Kansas City: Saint Louis - This route is mostly interstate so it is easy driving. If you go this route, make sure to stop by the Saint Louis Arch. Fun fact: Panera was founded in Saint Louis so all of their restaurants are called “Saint Louis Bread Co.” Springfield - Fun stops along this route include Mammoth Springs State Park, Buc-ee’s in Springfield, and Braum’s for ice cream in Springfield! Bentonville - If you choose this route make sure to stop by Onyx in Bentonville for some good coffee! Tip: if you want a certain route, make sure to put the city you want to go through into your GPS first because if not it could take you on a different route.

Flight

Flying from Mississippi

The only direct flight is from Southwest from New Orleans (MSY) to Kansas City (MCI)

Flight

Flying from Texas

There are many options for nonstop flights from Houston including flights by Delta, United, and Southwest.

Road-trip from Texas

There are many fun stops along the way from Texas to Kansas City! Near the beginning of the trip, stop in Longview, TX to visit the arboretum and nature reserve. And if you want to, stop for some coffee in Longview, visit Silver Grizzly Espresso! In Arkansas, stop in Rogers, AR for some coffee at Onyx or enjoy a short walk on one of the many trails in the area! Once you get into Missouri, check out Grand Falls in Joplin, MO! It’s a little bit off the route but is a great rest point! Be sure to pack snacks for the trip! Tip - Do not take the Tulsa route!

For all the days along the way
