Our story

Aaron and I met five, almost six years ago when Mercy Hill church came to Greensboro, NC. It was honestly a chance meeting. I would see him at church but didn’t know what was going on in his life. About a year and a half ago my community group leader’s wife (Robynn) mentioned a new member would be joining our group. I secretly prayed, “Please Jesus let this be someone for me. Make it easy on me. In this group we’d have built in community and accountability. Let it be time.” I quietly hoped and prayed. The following week Aaron sat in Greg and Robynn Osborne’s kitchen. I was thinking, “God I already know this man, come on!” I had no idea the man God was building and how incredibly hard Aaron Wagner was working to build something beautiful. So I ignored my attraction and the elbows from the ladies in bible study. I prayed a new prayer, “Jesus let me be seen and someone just ask me out on a date!!” At that time, God started to unveil Aaron. It could even be said, a crush was devleoped. In a bold move Aaron even got my number. One night at community group there was a whisper from God deep in my soul, “I see you and I love you,” God had offically answered my longing with his love. All along I was seen, known, and loved by God. And that very night Aaron asked me out on our first date! Come on! Since then we’ve loved, lost (Francis Ann Comer), had health scares and trials, dreamed, hoped, talked and talked, and really allowed God to mold us into a true, real love.

The engagment

On December 22nd Aaron Wagner did the BEST THING, he surprised me!!! I never get surprised. We were at my parents house for Christmas. When I look back everyone was a little too shiney and expectant. We finished opening presents and my mom asked if we should do stockings. I thought Aaron looked really tired so I interrupted and advocated for a nap. Then promptly sent Aaron upstairs for a nap. Having no idea my mom and Aaron were trying to set up for a proposal. Well DK, my mom’s dad was really fading and mentioned going home. My mom told me, “I have a gift for everyone but we need Aaron and Dad to do it.” So I go wake up Aaron. We all conviene downstairs and mom told Aaron to do the stockings. He doesn’t know whose stocking is which. I was like, “Mom, this is insane,” trying to protect my man. And he goes right for my stocking and pulls out THE little black box. Immediately, “This isnt happening, this isn’t happening!!” Only to look over and see mom, dad, and Rebekah recording me. Aaron sits down in the only avaliable space in front of me and signed in American Sign Language, “Will you marry me?” HE SIGNED HIS PROPSAL. I didn’t even answer I aready had the ring on and was crying. Finally i screamed, “YES!” He nailed it. I really was surprised. So honored to be with such a thoughtful and kind man.

The Plan

We plan on living a fabulous life full of hope and joy. In the start of our journey we both really want prayers for the start of our journey in: 1. Wisdom 2. Joy 3. FUN

For all the days along the way
