The first day of class in physical therapy school Bryan laughed about Beth Anne’s over the top preparation and use of highlighters. Later on, as their friendship blossomed and classes got more intense, Bryan kept Beth Anne on track toward her goal, while Beth Anne inspired Bryan to have a life centering around more than just work. Meanwhile there was always lots of laughter.

Beth convinced Bryan to take off for the Eclipse several months before to ensure they could travel to an area with 100% totality. After packing up at four in the morning, the drive didn’t take long despite a change course to ensure great weather. Once at the beach on Lake Barkley the two settled in for a relaxing day filled with reading, napping, snacking and card games. Bryan waited patiently for the right moment, and it came directly after the totality of the eclipse ceased, when the “diamond ring” appeared as the sun returned. It was a fleeting, but beautiful sight, made once in a lifetime by Bryan’s simple question.
