The year was 2015. The stakes were high. And against all odds, we came out on top. We met at a bubble soccer tournament (a charity event) during college at the University of South Carolina in 2015. Matt was the coach of my team, and we ended up winning the whole tournament. The rest is history.

Matt tried to convince me that his parents were meeting us for drinks...on the roof of his apartment. He was also panicking about what shirt to wear, and when I suggested a light blue shirt, he insisted that he needed one that wouldn't show sweat stains...in January. Slightly suspicious, I followed him up to the roof of his apartment building which was decorated with candles and flowers. After he asked and I, of course, said yes, our family rushed out to greet us and toast to our new engagement. Later in the evening, I was surprised again to find a room full of my best friends from all across the country had gathered to celebrate with us. It was truly one of the best days of my life.
