We met in high school, through mutual friends (Alysha and Tyler). We dated all of our senior year, attended Franklin and West Forest prom together. After high school, Matt went off to PTI in Pittsburgh and we attempted the long-distance thing, but it wasn’t for us. So, we went our separate ways. Or so we thought. Fast forward 4 years and we crossed paths again, began talking, and eventually dating. He was still living in Pittsburgh and bought his first house, after helping him move his one-bedroom apartment into a 3-bedroom house, he asked me to move in with him. After a year, we broke up but remained talking every now and then. Now ya know what they say, the third time is the charm! A year later, and we were officially dating again. We’ve been through 2 major moves, the birth of our son, buying and running a business together, and many other adventures. We can’t wait for this next chapter in our lives!
After years of waiting and plenty of bugging, he finally proposed. Now, when I pictured my proposal it was extravagant and over the top cute! But we all know Matt isn’t an over the top kind of person. It also didn’t help that I had found my ring (and tried it on!) but really, who hides something this special in the sock drawer, knowing I do 95% of the laundry!? Anywho, after bugging him for “my gift” (Christmas would have been the perfect time to propose!) he finally HANDED me the ring and said “here ya go!” Of course, I made him ask the big question and said no at first to mess with him, but then quickly said yes!
