Regardless, these two emo teenyboppers formed a timeless friendship that carried them into adulthood. Since then, Beth has watched Kyle get her masters degree, marry the love of her life, and now get ready to bring a brand new Brunn into the world! Kyle was the first of Beth's friends to meet James - at Mad Mex of course - and is the type of friend who will always be there for you - on a hike, on a bike, on the phone, or to fill up your wine glass.

Anthony has been James' best friend since third grade - they spent several years in middle school encouraging each other to do stupid things with skates on. Eventually, they put the skates away but always remained partners-in-crime. Now a husband himself and a father to three beautiful sons, Anthony spends most of his time trying to keep his sons from doing stupid things (with or without skates on).

One day, Beth and James' friend Steve brought his cool new girlfriend around and Beth quickly snatched her up as a BFF. Since then, Kristin has become Beth's work wife (but Steve's real wife), Europe travel buddy, Peloton pal, cooking inspiration, and recipient of all Beth's texts. And Gchats. And reviewer of every email she writes (hey Kristin, can you read this description of you before I post it?). Beth learns from Kristin's empathetic, passionate, accepting, caring, and empowering nature every day. This girl will fix your crown with one hand and make you a delicious meal with the other - all while listening to your dumbest story and somehow making you feel important.
Stephen Anderson

Stephen and Beth went to high school together and were both members of the Franklin Regional Marching Band. After Beth and James started dating, James and Stephen were introduced, and hit it off immediately. If you're looking for James when he is visiting Pittsburgh, he's probably at the Schenley Park disc golf course with Stephen (especially if it is raining).
Achsah Dorsey

Sorority rebellion is what brought Beth and Achsah together, and it's their profound weirdness that sustains it. From the moment they met at Penn State, their friendship has been full of spontaneous adventure and mischief. Achsah and her husband recently completed their PhDs in Anthropology and began a new chapter as assistant professors at University of Massachusetts. Achsah's quick wit, openness, bold leadership, and interpretive dance skills make everyone who knows her beam with pride.
Robin Lenz

After sharing a room together throughout most of high school, Robin and James continued their journey together at Penn State. After college, Robin went on to become a doctor, but still serves as James' personal tour guide whenever they are in a new city together, be it New York City or Chicago. Try not to get us mixed up at the wedding.
Kelly Caskey

It takes an amazing person to support their little brother's choices when he brings home a girl who does the worm on a hotel floor within three hours of meeting your entire family. Kelly is an incredible sister and a warm, compassionate friend. Beth admires her ability to juggle the demands of raising five wonderful children and a leadership role with the non-profit Gigi's Playhouse, while somehow always making time to listen to her friends and family. One of the perks of marrying James is gaining this girl as a sister!

When James was 11 years old, he was the ring bearer at Josh and Kelly's wedding. 21 years later, Josh is returning the favor by being a groomsman in James' wedding. James has always thought of and looked up to Josh as a big brother; not only did he serve as a U.S. Marine, he is an amazing father of five amazing kids!

When Jessica joined Beth's sorority, they immediately dubbed Beth her "god-big," an honorary big sister (this is not a real sorority thing, just a Jess and Beth thing). They've remained close ever since, taking trips and staying in touch, even as Jess conquered medical school and residencies. Her friendship is one of emotional support, encouragement, and safety, which is part of what makes her an amazing and empathetic OBGYN to her patients. Jess lives in eastern PA with her husband (another Penn Stater!), dog, and cat.

Ed is James' oldest brother and is a natural born leader - Ed was the first to be a Subway Sandwich Artist, volunteer firefighter, and EMT, all things that both James and Robin would take up in high school and college.
Lauren Mooney

Lauren lent Beth her mascara on the middle school showchoir bus and the rest is history. From getting separated in Chamber Choir for goofing off, to Lauren unofficially teaching Beth to drive her car named Chang, from bandcamp to Bucknell to grown-up Valentines Day dates, these two have been through it all. Lauren is always ready for an adventure or a sweatpants sleepover, and has been there since the very beginning, with an open door and an open heart.

Jon will be James' newest brother after the wedding. As a father of three boys (including a fresh set of twins), Jon is always happy to share an exotic craft beer and a board game with James after all the boys are asleep.

Kathleen was there when Beth & James started talking and when they said I love you. She met her husband Alex when they both had plans to travel to Pittsburgh (Kathleen to see Beth, Alex to see James) and Beth suggested they carpool! Now they are married with two adorable boys and Kathleen is checking off a bucket list item as a wedding officiant!
