It’s Miller time!

Jake and Beth met in January 2020 after matching on Hinge. Their first date took place at Crimson in Chinatown DC, which Jake famously recounts that Beth was 15 minutes late to. Let the record be known - Jake was 15 minutes early. The evening had everything you could want in a first date: good banter, prolonging the night to another bar, and an awkward hug goodbye at the metro. Beth was enamored, and immediately texted Jake when she got home that she wanted to see him again. As they continued to get to know one another, COVID swooped in. Beth went home to quarantine with her family in South Carolina for a couple of months, but this didn’t let things between Jake and Beth fizzle. They continued to text almost every day, and Beth found herself counting the days until she was back in DC to see him. Beth really knew it was serious when Jake invited her to his friends trip in the Outer Banks in August 2020. At the time, Beth was *attempting* a cross-country road trip with her family. Fate would have it that the RV broke down on this trip, so Beth rented a car the same day and drove the 9 hours to the OBX. From there, the rest was history. Jake and Beth developed their relationship, prioritizing Wednesday night date nights while Beth lived in DC and Jake in Arlington. Eventually, they decided to close the (long) distance, and now live with their beloved golden retriever, Sunny, in Arlington. Jake and Beth enjoy spending time together in many capacities, including watching sports games (Go Hokies!), traveling to new places, trying out restaurants and recipes, going on hikes, various shenanigans with our friends, playing with Sunny, and most recently, running (something Beth thought she’d never partake in). Jake popped the question on April 27, 2024 on a hike in Virginia. Beth was mostly clueless, especially when it came to the after-party at a nearby brewery, to which Beth said “Wow, someone else just got engaged, too!”. The couple looks forward to celebrating their commitment to one another with all of their friends and family in August of 2025.
