Some brides are afraid their guests will outshine them. We dare you to try. The dress code is EXTRA— as fabulous as you feel comfortable with! Want to take this as an opportunity to wear something you wouldn’t normally get the chance to? Great! You’d rather just throw on a little black dress or shirt and tie? Also fine! Honestly, wear whatever you’re going to feel great in. Our wedding inspiration includes SPACE and COWBOYS so a pair of cowboy boots or a galaxy tie would definitely not be out of place. The ceremony will be in a garden so you’ll be walking on grass, so plan footwear accordingly.
Depends on how you define “weddingy”! We are having a short ceremony in a lovely garden, with a dear friend as our officiant. There won’t be a processional and no one will be given away, but we will have vows and a first kiss. We’ll also be doing a family blessing since our son will have arrived by then. The reception is in a private space in a brewery. It’s divided into multiple smaller spaces rather than one large room. There’s no dance floor but there are board games, a pool table and an arcade. We’ll do a few of the traditional toasts and speeches but will try to keep it short. We’re planning on skipping the bouquet toss and garter toss. At the end of the day, we will be totally married, so I guess in that sense it’s pretty darn weddingy!
YES. Our reception venue requires guests over the age of 18 have proof of vaccination. And we’re happy they do, especially since we’ll have a newborn with us.
