Debonné Vineyards
Less than 3 miles from Standing Rock Farms (5 miles from hotel accommodations) A beautiful local winery that has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Debonne has been a Lake County staple since the early 1970s. They carry their own wines, but also brew their own beer! Debonne has live music every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They have a full menu that includes cheese plates, appetizers, salads, and sandwiches.
Laurentia Vineyard & Winery
Laurentia is one of the "newer" wineries in the area, but it is absolutely beautiful. This winery is less than 2 miles from the hotel accommodations; the driveway takes you through the woods to the winery that is surrounded by a pond and their vineyards. If you're looking for a more upscale, "elevated" winery, this is your place. Fun fact: Beth's brother, Greg, use to work at Laurentia tending to their grapes.
South River Vineyard
One of the most unique wineries in the area, this winery is an old church built in 1892. Located approximately 6 miles from hotel accommodations, this is one of the most beautiful vineyards around. To keep the church’s long history alive, the winery still maintains the original pews, interior door, wainscoting, flooring, and some of the stained glass windows. They have a cheese plate, but do not offer a full menu.
Hogback Ridge Park
My all time favorite park growing up in Madison! There are 5 different trails to chose from. There are boardwalks, stairs, the Grand River, waterfalls, meadows. It's absolutely beautiful any time of year. If you're looking to spend some time in nature, I highly recommend this park.
Hidden Valley Park
Another Lakemetro park staple! Although the trails are not as extensive as Hogback Ridge, Hidden Valley is right a long the Grand River. There is a large "hidden" waterfall, however the terrain is pretty treacherous to get there.
