The comfort and safety of our guests is our top priority. Along with sanitizing stations and optional masks provided, the Francis Marion will have social distancing and safe food handling measures in place for dining. Our seating arrangements keep family groups together, and we are spreading tables out as far as possible. If you would be more comfortable sitting with a specific group of people, or even at a private table, please contact the bride and we’ll be happy to make accommodations. We have 3 separate large spaces for cocktail hour, dining, and dancing/dessert. We have expanded the dance floor for everyone’s comfort. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions about the many precautions we are taking. Finally, if you are feeling unwell leading up to the wedding, or are in any way uncomfortable about attending, it is perfectly fine to decide against coming even if you have already sent your RSVP. We very much understand and know you will be with us in spirit!
Masks are required for all guests at the ceremony. There will be both black and white masks provided, but feel free to bring your own if you like! At the reception, masks are optional but we will still have them available for your comfort.
The internet told me it means “if men have access to a tux they should wear it! But if they only have a dark suit, that works too! Women should wear floor length gowns”
We recommend staying at the Francis Marion. Not only will you be conveniently located to the party and right in the middle of downtown Charleston, the Francis Marion offers us a great room rate for the wedding. Additionally, many short term rentals located in the historic districts of downtown Charleston (AirBnB’s and the like) are actually illegal. The City of Charleston has been cracking down on them, and we would hate for your rental to be canceled prior to the wedding because the owners got busted!
YEP 🥂
Please let us know in advance if you have any food restrictions. We can forward these along to the chef and have an option for you. Additionally, there will be gluten free desserts 🍰
There is ample parking for our ceremony at the Citadel. For the reception, there is a garage directly beside the Francis Marion Hotel on King St. If this garage becomes full due to the 4th of July holiday, there are 2 other garages within one block located on St. Philip St. and John St.
While your presence is gift enough, and there will be space for cards and small items at the reception, we are leaving for our honeymoon early the morning following the wedding 😎 So, we would love if any large gifts could be sent along beforehand. Our registry will send us items directly for seamless gift-giving!
While we love your kids, we want to give you a kid-free night out! If you are in need of child care while you party the night away, contact the bride for a list of local babysitters.
