Our Love Story

Besny and Kevin first crossed paths in 2018 as freshmen at St. John's University. While all their mutual friends had already connected, they were the last in the group to meet—but the moment they did, something just clicked. What began as an easy friendship quickly hinted at something deeper. Their bond deepened when they both volunteered to help plan a freshman-year dance. Kevin asked Besny to be his dance partner, and he was soon impressed by her natural talent. Besny took the lead, teaching him every step so he wouldn’t embarrass himself trying to keep up with her on stage. As they spent countless hours practicing together, their connection grew stronger, and subtle feelings began to take root. However, life got busy. Their hectic school schedules and busy lives gradually pulled them apart—as things sometimes go (iykyk). It wasn't until junior year that fate, once again through dance, brought them back together. Tasked with organizing another class dance performance, they reconnected. Just as their friendship began to blossom again, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and the world came to a halt. But while everything outside paused, something quietly beautiful unfolded between them. In the stillness of lockdown, away from the noise of everyday life, Kevin and Besny discovered a world of their own—one where time moved slower, hearts opened wider, and love quietly, deeply bloomed. Fast forward five years—through the challenges of a global pandemic, two years of long distance, and supporting each other through school and the early steps of their careers—Besny and Kevin’s love only grew stronger. From the very beginning, Kevin knew that Besny was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. So, on August 31st, 2024, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. And for Besny, it was the easiest “yes” she had ever said.
