We met at Landry's Bicycles. He asked me out through Strava... the app that we track our rides through. Our first date was a mountain bike ride through Foxboro State Forest... where Timothy lost me in first 20 minutes... luckily I'm not directionally challenged. The ride ended with a fist bump in the parking lot where we decided to grab a bite to eat at Maui Pearl down the street. He rushed off to go home and change...and later found out he got to take a shower, where I got to change my clothes in the car in the parking lot of Maui Pearl.
This day was a lot of firsts for me.... and it's not what you think! This was a weekend we had planned...the week before....which is how most of our weekend away trips get planned... last minute. We were going to Highland Mountain Bike Park in Northfield, NH! I was borrowing a bike from work that I wanted to try...a Santa Cruz Bronson. The weather was perfect! Blue skies and sunny. :) This was the first time I had ever ridden lift-service type mountain biking. You get a ride to the top of the mountain on a ski lift type setup. And then you get to the ride the trails down...all the fun stuff without all the hard work to the top. Timothy and I would always ride up to the top together, and then part ways at the top...I stuck to the green trails, and he would explore some of his favorites. :) As the end of the approached, I got tired enough that I didn't have it in me to another run. So, as Timmy and I were discussing how to finish out the day, he wanted to do one more run. We agreed that I would hang out at the bottom until he came back...as he took off, he said those three little words that every girl wants to hear from the man in their life that they've been saying silently in their head waiting for them to say it first. I was in awe as he took off and had to wait until he came back ... which took forever... he crashed on his way back down on his final run! When Timmy finally got back, the suspense of asking if he meant it was over. lol! And a perfect day ended with an amazing turn of events...and breakfast food from the Tilton Diner before we headed home.
