Kenz had been without her car for a few months while it was in the shop and, naturally, patience wasn’t an option. She had been eyeing a new Telluride for months and decided it was the perfect time to just go ahead and buy one instead of waiting. After inquiring online, Dakota picked up her lead, and just like that, things were set in motion. They ended up building and ordering the car, which meant a few more months of waiting… aka a few more months of Dakota having to deal with Kenz. Somewhere along the way, Kenz realized they had actually been following each other on Instagram. So, she sent him a DM: “why did I just now realize I’ve been talking to you about my new Kia…” Classic oblivious Kenz. A few months later, the car finally came in, which also meant Dakota got the pleasure of meeting Kenz’s dad for the first time. If you knew Brian, you understand exactly how this process went. Their negotiation went a little like this: “Dakota, that price won’t work for me.” “Brian, that is the best price we can offer.” “Dakota, it is in excellent condition.” “Brian, I understand, this is the best we can do.” “Dakota, I guess we will not be doing a trade today then.” Yup… typical Brian 🙂 Despite that, Dakota and Kenz kept in touch on social media, bonding over very important topics like cats and the gym (truly thrilling conversation topics). Eventually, Dakota asked Kenz on a date. They went out for sushi before meeting up with his friends, and this is where things really took off. Dakota ordered sashimi… and only that. Meanwhile, Kenz ordered multiple sushi rolls and hibachi... because they were going out drinking and more importantly... she loves food and has no shame. We like to think Dakota knew she was the one in that moment. From that day on, they were inseparable. They made things official, started traveling together, and moved in within six months. The rest has been a blur of trips, memories, and building a life together. So, if you’re looking for your future husband… maybe start by buying a car.
